Obama might just be able to swing it in Omaha. Maybe even Lincoln. A couple of extra electoral votes wouldn't hurt.  Jim Esch just might beat Terry if it goes that way too.  I'll go lay down for a bit now.

"'Obama drew 10,000 people to his rally here. He's strong in Nebraska,' said Omaha's top elected Democrat, Mayor Mike Fahey. 'There would be coattails.' African-Americans make up 13% of Omaha's population. Voter turnout historically has been low in North Omaha, birthplace of 1960s firebrand Malcolm X and African-American Hall of Fame pitcher Bob Gibson. The area turned out about 16,000 voters in 2006, a count local Democrats expect would double if Mr. Obama is on the ticket.'"

I am trying to detach sufficiently so that I can watch the remainder of the race without worrying so much about what Clinton will do next. The last rumblings I detected, they were about to play the gender card, that 'they' are just trying to keep women out of key positions in politics. The blunt refusal to provide transparency about their key sources of funds, her refusal to provide info about her earmarks, these signal a disturbing trend. I know Obama isn't perfect, but ...

They've already played all the cards (gender, race,...even Reagan channeling) at multiple times. The key is if Obama can stay on an even keel through all of it and it certainly seems as if he will.
