As for the Canadian election, the Green Party leader did amazing in the debate I saw. They also have a comprehensive arts strategy, so they've got my support.
Our current Prime Minister Harpo went all squinty eyed and I thought struggled to defend his neo-con strategies. I hope, sincerely hope, the polls start to register Canadian skepticism. He sounds like John McCain ("oh, the economy is sound. We're only going through a cooling down, not a recession.")
