New Tunes and Listens-To
Sep. 10th, 2008 06:59 pmOne of my less used laptops had the anti-virus go out of date on it. So I went looking for a freebie version to download and that took me to the download.com website and the free version of AVG anti-virus. I've found AVG anti-virus to be the best of the free anti-viruses out there especially if you tweak it a bit. But something unexpected happened.
On the download page it had an option to upgrade to the full commercial version of AVG if you just tried one of the free offers that the company TrialPay.com was promoting. So I forgot about the free AVG and went for the full along with a trial subscription to eMusic.com. They gave me 25 free tunes and 1 audiobook and a week or two to give them a try respectively. I later got a link and registration code for the anti-virus download.
So new tunes from: Gustav Mahler (San Francisco Symphony & Michael Tilton Thomas), Candy Dulfer, Steve Roach, Fela Kuti, Mark Ciaburri, Jimi Hendrix and Röyksopp. Originally I was heading towards some Biosphere but that got sidetracked.
The audiobook was the original Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy as read by Steven Fry. 5.8 hours worth. Very excellent.

There was a fellow Nebraska football fan in the main office there and so I always got good service. :)
