Springtime for Polar Bears
Mar. 21st, 2006 12:48 amSome surprising first of spring snow today. Didn’t go out in it - discretion and valor and all that - but did find out about some new ice cleats for nasty weather along this line.
Hoped to have gotten more done on my home projects today but just didn’t have much of a spark today. Did get some mundane computer tasks done like finishing up the migration to a new version of Ubuntu Linux (Breezy Badger) from my increasingly creaking Warty Warthog version of Ubuntu.
It’s been mostly a pain free transition. Still have a few codecs to install. Sound applications are always a bit tricky in Linux although things have improved significantly in recent years.
Plan on getting most of my fourth test ready to go tomorrow morning for the wind class. Also will need to refocus on getting ready for two energy gatherings for next week in Ord and Ainsworth. First will be a PowerPoint presentation and Q&A along with tabling. Second will be more tabling and a likely panel in Ainsworth.
Better finish up reading my latest North American Windpower magazine issue.
