I was channel surfing on a break the other day and heard a local cable access show that was interviewing homie and JFK-advisor Ted Sorensen who was in town for speaking events and awards. If memory serves me correctly, he said he encouraged Caroline Kennedy to get out and support Obama. Perhaps he has helped to light a further fire in her now that her children are grown?

I've always been very impressed with her and although she's not politically experienced, I think she'd probably do a fine job. And, perhaps more importantly, she'd win which is something I can't say for the other likely candidates listed so far.

Caroline "Very Interested" in Hillary Seat - Politico - 05 Dec 08

"Caroline Kennedy, the previously politics-shy daughter of JFK, has spoken to New York Gov. David Paterson about a possible appointment to replace Hillary Rodham Clinton, according to Democratic insiders. It's not clear when the pair spoke, but Kennedy, a high-profile supporter of Barack Obama during his primary battle against Clinton, apparently initiated the contact with the governor.

'She's willing to step into the spotlight now,' a Democratic official says. 'Now that her kids are basically grown up she's very interested.'"
