The counting continues to determine if Nebraska gets a dot of blue on the map. I met Jim Esch two years ago during his first run for the congressional seat. Nice kid but a little thin in the political credentialing department. I think the Dems might have won with a little stronger candidate.

"Four years ago, President Bush beat John Kerry by 22 points in District 2. Even the networks noticed the significant change Tuesday night. 'We could see Nebraska for the very first time actually split its electoral votes,' said Chuck Todd with NBC News.

Some experts thought if the Democrat won the District Two Congressional race -- Jim Esch -- so would Obama. But Esch lost big to Lee Terry -- by more than 12,000 votes. The presidential race in that district is much tighter. McCain leads Obama by just 569 votes. 6,771 people who voted for Obama then chose Terry over Esch.

'I want to say one last thank you to the Terry-Obama voters,' said Congressman Lee Terry. 'Some mocked us but here we stand victorious because we were able to earn their trust.' In the final weeks -- the campaign had advertised just that... The Obama - Terry voter.
