After a lovely break in the action down in refurbished Old Town Wichita, with old friends and new, this YouTube video tidbit for the music lovers (and regular lovers) in the crowd. Original mention by [livejournal.com profile] joe_haldeman.

The back and forth of conflicting interests continues in Wales as in other locales when it comes to renewable and other energy sources. In the meanwhile, they have a claim on being the first country in the world to formally put a figure on their carbon footprint.

Welsh Energy Drive Turns the Valleys Green Again - The Independent (UK) - 25 May 08

"Wales will this week become the first country in the world formally to report on the growth of its 'ecological footprint' – the measure of its impact on the planet's resources. It already leads the rest of the UK in trying to reduce it by, for example, getting all its electricity from renewable sources."

Something new from Joss Whedon on re-programmable people in a show called "Dollhouse" [trailer].

Also a new movie by the creators of Star Wreck called "Iron Sky" [trailer] which has the Nazis going to the moon to hide out in 1945. In 2018 they're coming back for an unfriendly visit. It's being described as "a scifi comedy about space nazis". Both look interesting but the "Iron Sky" looks particularly promising based on the trailers. They also have a LJ page which would be [livejournal.com profile] ironskyfilm.
