AD to Coach Transplant Option?
Nov. 4th, 2007 03:03 pmJust when you think that things can't get worse for the home team. Kansas 76 - Nebraska 39. No Nebraska defense should suck as much as this one does and 99% of the responsibility falls on the coaching staff, imo. I know there are injuries but other teams, with less talent, have injuries too and they aren't getting 70+ pasted on them by a good but not stellar team.
One more loss and it's 100% there's no bowl game. No bowl game in Nebraska, where thrifty natives need a winter vacation excuse, makes for a crabby times.
Where's The Outrage?
"While watching the first half of the Kansas-Nebraska game, which went into halftime at 48-24, I had a thought: what if new athletic director Tom Osborne walked down to the locker room, fired Bill Callahan and defensive coordinator Kevin Cosgrove, and coached the second half? Seriously. Is there a rule against that?"
Steven M. Sipple: Huskers Sinking Even Deeper - Lincoln Journal-Star
"What’s left to say about Nebraska’s current situation?
I guess you would have to say Nebraska reached a new low Saturday, for what it’s worth. I guess for posterity you have to note that Kansas’ 76 points are the most the Huskers have allowed in a game, and the Jayhawks’ 48 points are the most NU has allowed in a first half.
But you know what? This stuff doesn’t feel so strange anymore, watching Nebraska get annihilated on another Saturday. It’s becoming a regular occurrence. For objective observers, the novelty’s gone. Now, there’s mostly sadness.
For opponents, the thrill of beating Nebraska is gone, or should be gone.
For Nebraska? Well, Nebraska football is gone, at least the program that became such a proud and consistent force during the last four decades. That part is gone."
