May. 11th, 2007 01:25 pmLooks similar to a deal that the German Greens and SPD forged with their fairly long-lived alliance that put Germany on the leading edge of renewable development. Sir David King will be none too pleased with this.
Imagine if Scotland goes independent after all those new powerlines sending renewables south are built. Putin Syndrome - Part Deux perhaps? Ah, another reason for the rest of the UK to go nuclear, and quickly! Maybe not so bad for King's agenda after all if that's the case. Then again, now that Blair is out...

"The SNP and Green Party have reached agreement on a set of policies they will jointly pursue in the Scottish Parliament. Publishing a 'co-operation agreement' on Friday, the two parties put an emphasis on tackling climate change. They said they would work together to 'build a nuclear-free Scotland' and would put legislation in place for binding annual cuts in carbon emissions."
