Last night I spend WAY too much time stitching together photos from my trip from California to the Midwest. I did get some nice pseudo-panoramic shots constructed of Hoover Dam and Las Vegas but still have some to do for Zion National Park and the Kimball, Nebraska wind farm.
I highly recommend the free Autostitch demo program on the basis of how well it has worked on this project. I only wish I'd taken some more photos to fill in the "non-critical" parts of the vistas.
While my CPU was busy cranking out new images, I multitasked by looking at some RSS feeds. I use a program called the Liferea Feed Reader and it works fairly well. Nothing too fancy. One of the feeds I have set up searches Google and Yahoo! news for "wind turbine" related items.
It popped up an article on the latest efforts from Otherpower.com to build a scaled up version of Hugh Pigott's famous direct drive homebuilt wind turbine. It looks to be a dandy.

The beat goes on on the terror discussions. More than a few folks want to hang the bombings on Islam. My thought on this is that these bombings have as much to do with Islam as the IRA bombings have to do with Catholicism.
